Fumigation

Western offers timely, cost-effective treatment solutions to meet fumigation challenges.

Our areas of expertise include import and exporting, food processing and storage, museum fumigation, military needs, and many other services. Our skilled experts have been entrusted with jobs such as fumigation of missile silos, removing wood-destroying insects from historic Newport, RI mansions, and saving perishable agricultural cargo from contaminated soil.

And you can always trust Western to be serious about safety and security. Our certified applicators are on site at every fumigation to prevent problems from occurring. Additionally, we were the first fumigation company in the U.S. to conduct pre-employment screening that includes full personal and criminal background checks. We work with seven different government agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, to regulate our activities. And our compliance officer keeps us ahead of the curve on security and regulatory issues.

We offer a wealth of resources, experience and consulting relationships. Our consultants include a 30-year USDA veteran who pioneered the pre-clearance program for imported fruits from Chile, and other quarantine treatments for commodities from around the world.

We're pro-active supporters in the search for safe, effective alternatives to methyl bromide.

Western's Advanced Baiting System includes:

Step 1: Western's Advanced Baiting stations with electronic monitoring devices will be placed in the soil around your home.

Step 2: The stations will be checked regularly and scanned electronically for termite activity.

Step 3: The termites will feed on RecruitTM IV termite bait, tunnel out and send other colony nestmates back to feed on the bait. As they do, the colony starts to decline and will eventually be eliminated.

Step 4: After a colony has been eliminated, the bait will be replaced with new electronic monitoring devices. We will continue to inspect these regularly to detect any new colony that might invade your property.

The Importance of Ongoing Monitoring
A new termite colony can invade at any time. Monitoring stations are placed at precise intervals around your home. They stand guard as the first line of defense. When an inspection of a monitoring station shows termite activity, Western introduces the Advanced Baiting System. Immediately, additional bait stations may be installed near the infested monitor and they are constantly monitored and rebaited until all activity ceases. The stations are then re-converted to monitoring status to continue protecting your home.
