On our first visit we remediate your initial pest problem and begin one of the following preventive services:
Spring-Early Summer:
- Thorough inspection in and around your home for pest conditions and treatment of any pests that are discovered.
- Application of a protective barrier around the exterior of your home to keep crawling insects from entering.
- Checking of our non-toxic, strategically placed Watchdog™ and Mouse House™ monitors
Summer-Fall:
- Careful exterior inspection and treatment of pests, especially wasps' and bees' nests.
- Interior inspection, if desired, and treatment of any new infestations.
- Exterior barrier application to keep out pest invaders
Fall-Winter
- A comprehensive Pest Management Inspection of your home and property for potential pest problems.
- Checking of our non-toxic strategically placed Watchdog™ and Mouse House™ monitors.
- Thorough evaluation and treatment of any pest infestations
Western gives you year-round protection from pests.
Like Western's Home Protection Plan, our Home Protection Plus Plan (HPP+) provides year-round protection from a large number of the most common home-invading pests, including ants, cockroaches, mice, rats, spiders, fleas, silverfish, etc. However Western's HPP+, also covers carpenter ants, a wood destroying pest. Our seasonal service visits from our professionally trained technicians are scheduled three times a year to help prevent your pest problem from reoccurring.
Also included in the plan are any free emergency service visits. We understand that you may encounter pest problems in between one of our seasonal service visits. If that is the case, all you have to do is pick up the phone and call. We'll come right out, at no cost to you. You may never need to call us, but it's good to know we're there if you do.

Western's Advanced Baiting System includes:
Step 1: Western's Advanced Baiting stations with electronic monitoring devices will be placed in the soil around your home.
Step 2: The stations will be checked regularly and scanned electronically for termite activity.
Step 3: The termites will feed on RecruitTM IV termite bait, tunnel out and send other colony nestmates back to feed on the bait. As they do, the colony starts to decline and will eventually be eliminated.
Step 4: After a colony has been eliminated, the bait will be replaced with new electronic monitoring devices. We will continue to inspect these regularly to detect any new colony that might invade your property.
The Importance of Ongoing Monitoring
A new termite colony can invade at any time. Monitoring stations are placed at precise intervals around your home. They stand guard as the first line of defense. When an inspection of a monitoring station shows termite activity, Western introduces the Advanced Baiting System. Immediately, additional bait stations may be installed near the infested monitor and they are constantly monitored and rebaited until all activity ceases. The stations are then re-converted to monitoring status to continue protecting your home.
