Times change. Innovation happens. What was perfectly acceptable for use yesterday may be outdated today. We find better ways – greener ways. This all happens in life and pest control is no different.
While the traditional pest control methods are effective, we’re always looking for (and finding) greener ways to get the same job done – just as well. We never just check the box here at Western Pest Services. Here are just a few ways we’re using innovative new technologies and treatments to help control pests.
Rodent Control
We all have zero tolerance for rodents like mice and rats whether it’s at your home or at your business. Getting rid of them and keeping them out is a delicate balance. Western Pest Services has found several ways!
Burrow Treatments
Carbon monoxide burrow treatments take care of the rats that are in there and will even show all entry points. As a bonus, this reliable treatment option finds pests in their burrows, eliminating them while they are underground in a fast, environmentally friendly, and chemical-free way.
Remote Monitoring
Our PestDetect™ remote monitoring program is perfect for large warehouses and buildings with secure areas. It includes smart bait stations that will time stamps when a rodent enters or exits the station. Knowing the population sizes, bait acceptance, activity periods, and more helps us facilitate faster elimination times.
Trapping
Sometimes modern methods require going back to basics! While trapping sounds like an old-fashioned strategy, it uses no rodenticides and when used in conjunction with some of our other strategies, it has made a modern come back.
Green Methods for Other Pests
Rodents aren’t special around here! They’re not the only pest Western has been finding moderns ways to control them. Here are just some of the innovative and modern approaches we have come up with.
Spore Treatments for Bed Bugs
The spores we use not only target bed bugs specifically, but they are naturally occurring. With reduced chemicals, we can still effectively treat for bed bugs.
Tower Baiting for Roaches
Our tower baiting strategy starts from the top-down at large buildings like apartment buildings. We use Insect Growth Regulators – sometimes in conjunction with baits – to target cockroaches and their reproduction.
Mosquito Traps
Our eco-friendly mosquito traps deal with not only current mosquitoes, but also future fly-ins. The green product specifically targets female mosquitoes to stop the reproduction cycle. And because they are environmentally friendly, they can be used anywhere near and around your business without interfering with your landscaping. They can even be used near water sources.
Tick Boxes
This genius new system allows the small mammals that naturally live around your business to help control ticks for you. The harmless bait inside attracts rodents like chipmunks and mice who then are “treated” with a low-dose insecticide that kills the ticks.
Yellow Jacket Control Stations
These control stations can offer full control of yellow jackets around your building. They are childproof and secure so you can confidently place them anywhere in your yard – even near water sources.
Eco-Friendly Termite Baits
Our termite baits are 100% green and 100% targeting termites! They use an insect growth regulator the termites snack on and then bring back to the colony – helping to eradicate entire colonies in addition to entire termites.
Insect Light Traps
Besides our light traps being effective to control flies and some other small flying insects, the bulbs we use are more sustainable and more effective at attracting the flies. They will even save you money on both your energy bill and the fact that bulb replacement is every three years instead of every year.
Essential Oils
In many cases, we treat with essential oils to take care of pests like spiders – especially at docks and marinas where the water can be affected by more traditional products. And should a dog run through while we’re spraying, he will smell better than before!
It’s almost as if we’re never happy here at Western Pest Services. That’s not the case. We’re always hungry is more like it. We’re constantly striving and searching – we just can’t stop being curious, we guess. That drive certainly pays off for us and our customers. If you think you could benefit from any of our modern techniques, contact us today. We may even have others we could tell you about.
