A: Peter Mattiace
Q: And what is your official title at Western Pest Services?
A: Canine Handler
Q: What are your responsibilities?
A: Maintain Tess’s and Raven’s training, health, and grooming. With my dogs, we conduct services in several settings including homes, theaters, and hotels while providing excellent customer service. I also make sure to pass certification tests as well as do demonstrations for customers.
Q: What year did you start working at Western?
A: 2012
Q: How many years have you been working in this industry?
A: I started in the industry in 2007 and with canines in 2008.
Q: What relevant positions did you hold before Western?
A: I was lead canine handler for another pest control company for 4 years before coming to Western.
Q: What’s your education background?
A: Bergenfield High School, Florida Canine Academy, Joe Nick K-9.
Q: Do you have any relevant certifications or specialties?
A: Quality Pro Certified and certified with four different dogs.
Q: Have you received any relevant awards?
A: 2019 President’s Club, PCT Magazine Technician of the Year Finalist 2016
Q: Are you a member of any relevant organizations?
A: Camaro Club of America. It may not be relevant, but it doesn’t make it any less fun!
Q: Are there any interesting projects you’ve worked on that you’d like to include?
A: I’ve been featured in the New York Times, the Star Ledger, AKC Family Dog Magazine, did a live demo on News 7 @6, and rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange in 2016.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to include?
A: I have conducted thousands of searches in my career!
