All About Easton, CT

Easton is a town in Fairfield County. Easton was first settled in 1757 by men and women from Fairfield. In 1762 a congregation called the North Fairfield Society was established, and it gradually evolved into Easton. In 1787 Weston, then including lands now defined as Easton, was incorporated out of Fairfield. The area was slow to develop because of the rough hills along the Aspetuck River, and so it was not until 1845 that what is now Easton separated from Weston. Today, half of the town’s property is owned by the Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut, the major supplier of water in the area. The deaf and blind activist Helen Keller lived the last several years of her life in Easton. Her house is still intact today and has been owned by several families since her death. The local middle school is named for her.

It’s no secret that Easton has a rich history but it’s also a tourist destination. Every go hiking with a miniature llama? At Rowanwood Farm, you can! Take in a show at Prospector Theater, which is not your run of the mill movie theater. The Prospector Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing competitive and integrated employment to people with disabilities through the operation of a premium, first-run movie theater located in Ridgefield, CT. Employees of the Prospector, referred to as Prospects, are encouraged to sparkle, shine, and transform their passions into professions. That makes our hearts happy. With a happy heart, make your stomach happy at The Sitting Duck Tavern. Start with the warm goat cheese salad and of course the duck wings! Year round, people flock to Easton to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Easton, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest Control Services Near You

Properly controlling pests in Easton, CT should be done on a local level. Easton’s pest issues are different than Delaware’s and way different than New York City’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Western Pest Services. We have been servicing Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware for almost 100 years. That kind of expertise is unmatched in the industry. And with a branch located in nearby Norwalk, our technicians, customer services representatives, and everyone else that works at that location lives and works in the area, too. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.

As the Constitution State, Connecticut is known for having everything from beaches to cities to forests. Easton is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Norwalk, CT branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wood areas around Samuel P. Senior Memorial Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. bag of dog food! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Easton can help, including:

  • Bats
  • Bed bugs
  • Pest birds
  • Spotted lanternflies
  • Ants
  • Carpenter ants
  • Spiders
