All About Doylestown, PA

Doylestown is a borough and the county seat of Bucks County in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is located 27.9 miles northwest of Trenton, 31.6 miles southeast of Allentown, 40.3 miles north of center city Philadelphia, and 81.7 miles southwest of New York City. Doylestown’s origins date to March 1745 when William Doyle obtained a license to build a tavern on what is now the northwest corner of Dyers Road and Coryell’s Ferry Road (now Main and State Streets). Known for years as “William Doyle’s Tavern,” its strategic location, at the intersection of the road (now U.S. Route 202) linking Swede’s Ford (Norristown) and Coryell’s Ferry (New Hope) and the road (now PA Route 611) linking Philadelphia and Easton, allowed the hamlet to grow into a village. The first church was erected in 1815, followed by a succession of congregations throughout the 19th century.

Doylestown is home to a host of natural and rural attractions. Make sure to visit the Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle. It’s the mission of the Bucks County Historical Society to educate and engage its many audiences in appreciating the past and to help people find stories and meanings relevant to their lives – both today and in the future. Safe to say they get that done at the museum and castle! Relax on a park bench while the kids enjoy the Kids Castle Playground. This large playground meets the needs of children with a variety of abilities at all ends of the spectrum to encourage and enable them to play with one another. Children are able to participate equally and independently at their own skill levels. Play features are also included for children with visual impairment, hearing impairment, autism/SPD, mobility impairment, and cognitive disabilities. Inclusive fun for all! After all that playing and history, have a great meal at Bocelli’s where you can enjoy anything from tagliatelle ai frutti de mare to chicken parmigiana. Every year, people flock to Doylestown to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in Doylestown, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest Control Services Near You

Properly controlling pests in Doylestown, PA should be done on a local level. Doylestown’s pest issues are different than New Jersey’s and way different than New York City’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Western Pest Services. Our neighbors are your neighbors, and we treat them that way.

As the Keystone State, Pennsylvania is known for its forests, farms, trails, and abundance of greenery and lush vegetation. Doylestown is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Spring House, PA branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the trails in Burpee Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. dog food bag! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in Doylestown can help, including:

  • Bats
  • Bed bugs
  • Pest birds
