All About North Wales, PA

North Wales is a borough in Montgomery County. It is a suburb of Philadelphia, and is one of the three historic population centers that make up the North Penn Valley, which is centered on the borough of Lansdale. As its name suggests, North Wales was settled by Welsh immigrants who named it after North Wales in. Part of a 1702 William Penn land grant, this rich farming country was given the name “Gwynedd” for the homeland of the earliest settlers, and it began as a pastoral village in agricultural Gwynedd Township. Before 1850, a number of farms, plus a 1776 church, shared by the Lutheran and Reformed congregations, dotted the present borough’s landscape. What is now Main Street was originally an old Indian trail and was laid out as the Great Road in 1728. By 1828, it had become today’s Sumneytown Pike, and was a toll road until 1914. It had always been an important route to Philadelphia and continues to serve as a connection to Routes 202 and 309 to the east and the Northeastern Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the west.

North Wales is home to a host of natural and rural attractions. Explore the natural beauty at Briar Bush Nature Center. Their natural play area features a running stream, sand pit, crawling and walking tunnels, balancing logs, and other opportunities for outdoor play. It has quickly become a favorite gathering spot for parents and children of all ages. Take a tubing trip down the Delaware River with Twin Rivers Tubing. Even if you don’t book a tubing trip, read the “we cannot control” section on their home page. Funny but also – really people? After tubing and being very nice to the staff because they cannot control the river or the weather, stop at The Green Fork for some amazing downhome cooking. Make sure to take a walk around in their market and check out the featured artist wall! Every year, people flock to North Wales to enjoy everything it has to offer, but unfortunately, so do pests. While these bugs and rodents provide benefits to the eco-system in North Wales, they can also be a serious problem at homes and businesses. That’s when a professional pest control expert should be called in.

Pest Control Services Near You

Properly controlling pests in North Wales, PA should be done on a local level. North Wales’s pest issues are different than New Jersey’s and way different than New York City’s. The pest control company you choose should have knowledge and expertise in your town. That’s Western Pest Services. As the Keystone State, Pennsylvania is known for its forests, farms, trails, and abundance of greenery and lush vegetation. North Wales is no exception. Warm, moist summers give way to cold winters, which means over-wintering insects, rodents, and other small wildlife need to find warm places to wait out the cold. The local extermination experts at our Spring House, PA branch are used to dealing with mice, carpenter ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, ticks – and even the occasional cheeky raccoon or hiding bat. No matter the season, your pest control service needs will be taken care of by a local exterminator that knows the area and the pests that are common to it. In the summer, they know what that the ponds and birdbaths many people have around their homes can be exactly where mosquitoes like to breed. They know that the ticks that come out during the summer months can transmit Lyme disease so while nobody can help the wooded areas around Parkside Place Park, they can help your backyard stay free from them. In the cooler months, they know mice can try to make their way into your garage – especially if that’s where you keep the 20 lb. dog food bag! No matter what pest, any time of the year, our pest control treatments in North Wales can help, including:

  • Bats
  • Bed bugs
  • Pest birds
